The Stars Burn On – Book Review #14

I’m writing this review while I’ve still got a bit left to read. This hasn’t happened to me since I started doing the Goodreads reading challenge and I’m not liking being behind at all!
I’ll have to update my review of The Stars Burn On by Denise Richardson when I finally manage to finish it!

The Stars Burn On

Here’s the blurb from Goodreads:

High on a windswept hill on the dawn of a new year, 8 young people gather to watch the sun rise. Soon they must separate and go off into the world of work. Within days one of the group is dead in mysterious circumstances and only one of them knows that the secret which binds them all together is a lie.

My Thoughts

It’s a hard one to review because I’m not actually sure if I like it or not! It’s certainly taking me a long time to read it. I’m slightly invested in the characters, but I’m just over half way through and it feels like nothing much is happening. I tried to sit down yesterday afternoon and binge read it to the end, but my attention kept wandering and I gave up.

One thing that is annoying me is the number of typos in the book. I don’t know if any editing was ever done because there are random question marks, the number 1 being used as an L and lots of other mistakes. The odd one can be expected, but this has too many for my comfort levels!

I’ll be back to update this post once I’ve finished the book. Hopefully, it won’t be too long!

*EDIT* I wrote this post yesterday and finally finished the book today and to be honest, not much more happened so there’s not really anything to update you about!
I gave it 2 stars and was glad to be finally finished!
